Congratulations to Strange Matter’s Cavan Scott for being named as a 2020 Audie Finalist for his six-hour audio drama Star Wars Dooku: Jedi Lost.
The Audie Awards are the most prestigious award in audiobook and spoken word entertainment, with the finalists selected for over 1,300 submissions.
The winners will be revealed at a Gala ceremony on 2nd March 2020 at Guastavino’s in New York City, hosted by author and CBS correspondent Mo Rocca.
Star Wars Dooku: Jedi Lost is listed in the Multi-Voiced Performance category and features the voice talent of Orlagh Cassidy, Euan Morton, Marc Thompson, Pete Bradbury, Jonathan Davis, Neil Hellegers, Sean Kenin, January LaVoy, Saskia Maarleveld, Carol Monda, Robert Petkoff, and Rebecca Soler. Published by Penguin Random House Audio, the audio original was produced by Nick Martorelli, script edited by Elizabeth Schaefer and directed by Kevin Thomsen.
October sees Strange Matter‘s Cavan Scott jump back to a Galaxy, Far, Far Away not once but three times.
The month kicks off with the publication of the Star Wars Dooku: Jedi Lostscript book, featuring the script for the six-hour Star Wars full-cast audio play that was published by Del Rey / Penguin Random House Audio earlier this year.
Then, the fourth in Cavan’s Star Wars Choose Your Destiny series is released October 4th by Disney Lucasfilm Press. Part of the Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, A Finn & Poe is an interactive gamebook featuring characters from the must anticipated movie.
Finally, every Wednesday in October will see IDW publish Star Wars Adventures: Return to Vader’s Castle, a five-issue weekly mini-series that tells spooky stories in the Star Wars universe, perfect for Halloween. Following the success of last year’s award nominated Tales From Vader’s Castle, the series sees Cavan team up with artists Francesco Francavilla, Megan Leven, Kelley Jones, Nick Brokenshire, Nicoletta Baldari and Charles Paul Wilson III.
These releases are just part of Cavan’s extensive contribution to Star Wars, a relationship that will only grow with his involvement in Lucasfilm’s top secret Project: Luminous initiative.
Last Monday, Lucasfilm teased a mysterious new Star Wars initiative known only as Project Luminous, but other than the name and the date revealed at Star Wars Celebration Chicago very little is known.
What we can say is that Strange Matter‘s Cavan Scott is one of the five authors invited to take part in the project, which has seen him travel to Skywalker Ranch in California twice in the last six months.
Also involved are writer’s Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older and Charles Soule.
More information as and when we can reveal it, but in the meantime here is a picture of the five authors at Skywalker Ranch last September.
